Plastic Blowing Moulding Machine

The plastic blow molding machine is an industrial system used to manufacture hollow plastic parts (like bottles, containers, tanks, and automotive ducts) by inflating a hot, softened plastic tube (called a parison or preform) inside a mold cavity using compressed air.

Plastic Blowing Moulding Machine Main Components:

1. Plasticating Unit (Extruder or Injection Unit): Melts and homogenizes plastic pellets.

2. Die Head (Extrusion BLM) / Injection Mold (Injection & Stretch BLM): Forms the initial parison or preform.

3. Mold: Defines the final shape of the product. Usually made of steel or aluminum, with cooling channels.

4. Clamping Unit: Holds the mold halves together under high pressure during blowing and cooling.

5. Blowing System: Supplies high-pressure air (typically 40-600 psi / 3-40 bar) through blow pins or needles to inflate the parison/preform.

6. Control System: Computerized controls manage temperature, timing, pressure, sequences, and movements.

7. Parison/Prefom Handling System: Robots or mechanisms to transfer preforms or position/extrude the parison.

Main Types of Blow Moulding Machines:

1. Extrusion Blow Molding Machine (EBM): Most common type. Used for high-volume production of bottles, containers, drums, toys, automotive parts.

2. Injection Blow Molding Machine (IBM): Produces very precise neck finishes (like pharmaceutical bottles). Good for smaller containers.

3. Stretch Blow Molding Machine (SBM): Primarily used for PET bottles (water, soda, juice). This biaxial stretching creates stronger, clearer, lighter-weight bottles with better barrier properties.
