What is the Process of Blow Moulding

Blow moulding is a plastic processing technology that uses gas pressure to blow and mold a plastic parison into a hollow product after softening it by heating.

The core steps of the blow molding machine include: making the molten plastic into a tubular parison → placing the parison in the mold → injecting compressed air to expand it to fit the inner wall of the mold → demolding after cooling and shaping.

Blow molding machine are mainly divided into two categories: extrusion blow moulding machine (suitable for bottles, cans, and barrels) and injection blow moulding machine (high precision, suitable for medical bottles, etc.).

Blow molding machines are widely used in the production of hollow plastic products such as beverage bottles, daily chemical packaging, and automobile fuel tanks. They have the characteristics of low cost and strong adaptability, but they have high requirements for mold precision and material fluidity.

The flexibility of the blow molding process makes it the mainstream production method for hollow plastic products, but it is necessary to select the appropriate process branch according to product requirements (precision, material, cost), and optimize mold design and parameter control to balance efficiency and quality.
